is a small family owned business specializing in quality handcrafted Amish furniture that we started in 1995 as a sideline to farming. The majority of our items are built in Ohio and Indiana. Additionally, my brother Michael Yoder builds a few lines of bedroom furniture in our own wood shop. We have provided heirloom quality furniture to customers from all over our nation, though the majority of our customers have come to us from metropolitan St. Louis areas as well as west Central Illinois.
In 2002, we at Greene Prairie Woodworks built our own show room and began selling retail. As time went on and our business has grown we added a finishing shop in order to finish our own furniture to our exacting specifications. Currently we are using a catalyzed varnish that is a high quality coating to protect your furniture for years of service into the generations to come. Most of our furniture is constructed of solid oak, cherry, or quarter-sawn white oak. We also have walnut, hard maple and hickory available. We are diverse in finish choices, offering regular staining, painting, and glazing and distressed, time worn looks if a customer desires. In 2007, we divided the retail and finish shop from the wood shop. This allows us to focus on our skills to offer you even better customer service. Now my brother Michael can concentrate on the building and designing of furniture and I can devote my time to retail services.
We are located in west central Illinois on the family farm amongst the corn fields, far from the bustle of the city. This brings a peace and quietude that we really enjoy. We still are actively involved with agriculture with our family raising corn and soybeans. My wife and I invite you to come and enjoy the country drive and see for yourself the fine line of furniture we offer. We are of the Mennonite faith and believe in doing all to the honor and glory of God, therefore we do no business on Sunday.
